About The God Zone Series
From the very beginning pages of scripture, we hear about the Kingdom of God. Is it a location? Is it a political order? Is it here? Is it a future destination? When Jesus arrived in history, he preached extensively on the Kingdom of God.
Matthew 4: 23 – “Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.” Later, Jesus says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” What did Jesus mean?
In this series, we explore some common misconceptions about what the Kingdom of God might be, but more importantly, what is is all about. We’ll begin this series in Matthew’s gospel where a collection of teachings paints a picture of life in the Kingdom of God and how it can be nearer than we all think.
As we explore how the Kingdom of God is both near, here, and to be anticipated, we’ll come to recognize that this what Jesus is describing is a zone that layers on top of our physical world where He is rules and reigns.. We are calling this “The God Zone”.
Personal and Group Reflection Guides
One of
One of the most complete pictures that we have of what this zone where God reigns, is in the Sermon on the Mount. So, our growth groups are discussing the Sermon on the Mount using the Bible Project study resources to accompany this series in Acts. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus himself taught on what the Kingdom of God is like while in Acts, we see the early church learning to live it out.
